One Book One Vancouver 2002 Created in 2002 by the Vancouver Public Library this programme encourages residents of Vancouver to read the same book. Rather than use the usual visual cliches of mountains, we focussed on the excitement and interaction of the readers and the book. The colour paltte is drawn from the colours used by the library, as is the typeface. Illustrator Wendy Wortsman’s engaging and playful images are an extension of the same theme with illustrations that expand on the excitement of everyone’s involvement and feature local landmarks to reinforce the local focus. |
